Graham McDougall has a diverse background in the media industry, with a focus on sales and marketing. Graham started their career as a Circulation Analyst at Frontline in 2001 before moving on to Bauer Media as a Circulation and Trade Marketing Manager in 2003. McDougall then joined Frontline / BBC Worldwide as a Senior Newstrade Marketing Manager in 2010.
In 2011, McDougall transitioned to dmg media, where they held various roles including Client Services Manager, National Sales Manager, and Retail Sales Manager, focusing on sales and marketing for the Daily Mail and The Mail on Sunday. Graham managed major retail accounts, implemented sales initiatives, and led a team responsible for sales, marketing, and distribution services to newspaper and magazine publishers.
McDougall then joined News UK in 2017 as the Head of Marketing - Print Sales and Subscriptions for Times Newspapers Ltd. Graham built and executed marketing plans to sell print sales and subscriptions for The Times and Sunday Times, with a focus on expanding the audience and increasing frequency.
Most recently, McDougall worked at DC Thomson as Head of Audience Management, Head of Subscriptions Growth, News & Sport, and currently as the Head of Digital Subscriptions. In their role at DC Thomson, they built and led a team responsible for the brand, acquisition, engagement, and retention of customers for the digital newspaper subscriptions business.
Throughout their career, McDougall has demonstrated a strong focus on sales growth, marketing strategy, and audience development in the media industry.
Graham McDougall completed their education with a BA Hons - 2:1 degree in Marketing and Economics from the University of Strathclyde between 1997 and 2001. Following this, they pursued a Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing at CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing from 2007 to 2008.
