Fan Feng has a diverse work experience. They started their career as a Customer Service Representative at AllState Insurance Company in 2009, where they provided information to customers and processed insurance sales. In 2010, they worked as a Contractor at the US Food and Drug Administration, assisting in the translation of regulatory presentations and narrating website presentations. They then joined the International Fund for China's Environment in 2012 as an Editor & Researcher, conducting research on NGOs' participation in global environmental initiatives and editing the weekly newsletter. In 2013, Fan Feng joined DC Energy as an Analyst, where they worked until 2016 before being promoted to Associate. In their current role at DC Energy as a Principal, Fan Feng started in July 2022. Additionally, they have teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant at Amherst College from 2011 to 2013, where they worked with professors and other teaching assistants to improve students' academic performance in various courses. They also worked as a Lab Assistant in the Carter Laboratory at Amherst College for a brief period in 2011. Overall, Fan Feng has demonstrated their ability to excel in different roles and organizations throughout their career.

Fan Feng has an Associate of Science and an Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, and Liberal Arts from Northern Virginia Community College. Later, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry and Economics at Amherst College, which was completed in 2013.
