Michelle Liao is a co-founder of DayZero, established in August 2023, where the focus is on creating a simplified accounting platform for e-commerce brands and small businesses, aiming to replace QuickBooks. Prior to this venture, Michelle held various roles at Aestuary from 2021 to 2023, overseeing mergers and acquisitions, finance, and operations with a focus on Shopify brands. Michelle's career in private equity includes a position as a Private Equity Associate at True Wind Capital from 2019 to 2021, where the emphasis was on acquiring software companies, and an earlier role at LionTree LLC from 2017 to 2019 in investment banking, specifically within the technology, media, and telecom sectors, noted for its portrayal in HBO's Succession. Michelle earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics with concentrations in Finance, Accounting, and Entrepreneurship from The Wharton School and holds an Advanced Regents Diploma as an Honor Graduate from Ward Melville Senior High School.
