Sharmila Prakash has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and development. Sharmila is currently employed as a Senior Software Engineer at DataStax since March 2022. Prior to this, they worked at JPMorgan Chase & Co. where they held the roles of Vice President from January 2022 to March 2022, and Software Engineer from June 2017 to January 2022. Sharmila also gained experience as an Application Developer Intern at Nationwide Insurance from February 2017 to April 2017. Earlier in their career, they served as a Graduate Web Developer at UF Recreational Sports from April 2016 to January 2017, and as an Application Developer at Infosys from June 2014 to October 2015. Their expertise includes web development, software testing, and working with various programming languages and tools such as PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and CMS.

Sharmila Prakash holds a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Florida, which they obtained from 2016 to 2017. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Visvesvaraya Technological University between 2010 and 2014. In terms of additional certifications, Sharmila obtained the AWS Certified Developer - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in September 2021. Sharmila also completed the Infosys .NET Trained certification from Infosys in June 2014.
