Gus Mercado has extensive work experience in various leadership roles. Gus served as the Chairman and CEO of Datalogix Texas Inc., a Philippine American Chambers of Commerce where they organized trade missions to Southeast Asian countries. Additionally, they held the role of Chairman and CEO at Datalogix Inc., a private corporation that provided technical services to the US wireless telecom industry. Prior to that, they worked as the Manager of M.I.S. at Rockwell International/Alcatel from 1979 to 2007. Gus also served as the Manager of Corporate Communications at Sprint International and the Director of Public Affairs at Caltex Petroleum.

Gus Mercado attended De La Salle University from 1964 to 1968, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Commerce with a focus on Finance and Economics. Additionally, they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a specialization in Business and Economics during the same period.
