Samrat Ray has extensive experience in product management and software engineering, spanning over two decades. Samrat has worked at leading tech companies such as Databricks, Google, VMware, Oracle, and BEA Systems. In their current role as Product Lead at Databricks, they focus on enterprise security. Previously, at Google, they held various leadership roles, including Lead Group Product Manager for Security and Senior Product Manager for Databases, contributing significantly to the success of GCP security products like Cloud SQL. Before that, they played pivotal roles at VMware, Oracle, BEA Systems, Mahindra British Telecom, and Citrop India Pvt. Ltd., showcasing a diverse skill set in areas like data platforms, IoT workloads, API management, and more.

Samrat Ray obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Mumbai in 1997. Samrat then pursued Project Management at the University of California, Berkeley from 2004 to 2006. In 2010, they completed Practical Product Management from Pragmatic Marketing. Additionally, Samrat attended OLPS for an unspecified period.
