Max Thöne serves as a Senior Manager in Field Engineering at Databricks since May 2019, leading the Specialist and Delivery Solution Architect organizations for the ASEAN and GCR regions. As the first Specialist Solutions Architect in ASEAN/GCR, Max built teams focusing on data governance, engineering, infrastructure, and ML/GenAI, as well as Delivery Specialists for large-scale migration and modernization projects. Previous roles include Manager and Team Lead for Specialist Solutions Architecture, where Max drove engagements with major enterprises across Europe, Southeast Asia, and the USA, optimizing cloud infrastructure and big data pipelines. Max's earlier experience includes positions as a Data Scientist at Aimia Inc., where advanced promotions analytics for retail clients were developed, and at Gamesys, focusing on machine learning models for business KPIs. Additional experience includes roles at Shell and teaching assistant positions at TU Delft. Max holds a Master’s Degree in Systems & Control from Delft University of Technology and has completed a Summer School program in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics at The London School of Economics.
