Ashwini Jayaratnam is a Partner at DarrowEverett LLP, focusing on complex commercial cases involving fiduciary breaches, restrictive covenants, freeze-out mergers, and shareholder buyouts since August 2023. Prior to this, Ashwini served as Counsel at Brewer, Attorneys & Counselors and gained extensive experience as Senior Counsel at Davidoff Hutcher & Citron LLP, primarily handling shareholder disputes. Previous roles include Associate positions at Friedman & Wittenstein, where representation of companies and individuals in commercial litigation was a primary responsibility, and at Ropes & Gray LLP, focusing on transactional matters and litigation. Ashwini's legal career began with a Summer Associate role at Skadden, which resulted in a permanent offer. Early in the career, experience was gained as a Research Analyst at the International Monetary Fund. Ashwini holds a JD, cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center and a BA in Economics from Stanford University.
