Martin Udengaard Olesen has a diverse work experience in various industries. Martin Udengaard began their career in 1998 at Maersk Oil, where they held roles as a Well Site Engineer, Petroleum Engineer in the Production Development Department, and Manager of Operations. In 2008, they joined DONG Energy as a Senior Manager, overseeing the operations and maintenance of power plants and managing subsidiary companies. Martin Udengaard later transitioned to roles in Plant Site Logistics and QHSE Power, where they were responsible for port operations and logistics for coal and wood pellets. In 2014, Martin joined APM Terminals as the Head of Operations in Aarhus, managing container operations and driving efficiency improvements. Martin Udengaard then worked as a Consultant in 2016, focusing on work process optimization and tendering processes. Currently, Martin is the Head of Business Development at Dansk Retursystem A/S.

Martin Udengaard Olesen has a diverse education history spanning several institutions and fields of study. Martin Udengaard began their education at Mulernes Legatskole, where they obtained a Studenter eksamen degree from 1989 to 1992. Following this, they attended Newcastle University in 1997 and earned a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Chemical Engineering.

Continuing their education, Martin attended DTU - Technical University of Denmark from 1993 to 1998, where they pursued a Master's degree in Engineering. In 2000, they enrolled at Copenhagen Business School and pursued a degree in HD with a focus on Organisation, completing it in 2004. Additionally, during this time at Copenhagen Business School, from 2002 to 2004, they also obtained a Graduale Diploma in Business Administration (HD*).

In terms of additional certifications, Martin obtained a PRINCE II certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice in February 2016. Furthermore, in July 2023, they completed a program called Career Essentials in Generative AI by Microsoft and LinkedIn, offered by Microsoft.
