Kim Nielsen is a senior consultant at the Danish Patient Safety Authority (STPS) since January 2019, contributing expertise in blood, tissues, cells, fertility, and organs as part of a specialized team. Prior to this, Kim served as technical director at Aarhus University Hospital from August 2000 to May 2016, achieving a significant turnaround in cornea donation levels in Denmark, regaining 90% self-sufficiency. Kim's background includes roles as a molecular biologist, with research focused on keratoconus, resulting in a PhD thesis and a comprehensive genetic review on the condition. Kim holds a PhD from Aarhus University and an MSc in biochemistry from the University of Copenhagen.
