Maricica Nistor, PhD has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Maricica started their career in 2007 as a Supplier Quality Engineer at Continental Automotive Romania SRL. From 2008 to 2014, they worked as a Research Engineer at Instituto de TelecomunicaƧƵes, where they focused on designing energy-efficient communication protocols for smart grids and sensor networks. Maricica then joined the M2Bee Project as a Research Engineer in 2014. In 2015, they became a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Coimbra, where they developed decision support models for an integrated energy management system. Maricica also worked as a Project Manager and Research Engineer at CEiiA // Centre of Engineering and Product Development from 2015 to 2019, where they were responsible for preparing funding proposals and managing projects related to e-Mobility and IoT engineering. Additionally, they worked as a Visiting Researcher at Cisco Systems in 2012. In 2017, they joined the European Commission as an Evaluator and in 2019, they became a Technical Project Manager at Daloop. Maricica Nistor holds a PhD and has demonstrated expertise in areas such as integrated energy management systems, renewables, electric vehicles, and smart grids.

Maricica Nistor, PhD, has an extensive education history. Maricica began their academic journey in 2002 at the Gheorghe Asachiā€‹ Technical University of Iași, where they completed a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering in 2007. During this time, they also pursued a Teaching Education and Training Program at Universitatea Tehnică "Gh. Asachi" din Iași, earning another Bachelor's degree.

Building on their undergraduate education, Maricica then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Electronics Engineering at the Gheorghe Asachiā€‹ Technical University of Iași, completing their studies in 2008.

Continuing their dedication to their field, Maricica then enrolled at the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto in 2008. Maricica participated in the MAP-tele program and conducted research in Telecommunications Engineering, culminating in the successful completion of their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in 2014.
