Bruce Devlin

Chief Media Scientist at Dalet

Bruce Devlin has a diverse and extensive work experience in the media technology industry. Bruce started their career at BBC R&D as a Senior R&D Engineer and later became a Senior Research Engineer. Bruce then moved to Thomson L.E.R. as a Principal Research Engineer before joining IBC as a presenter, speaker, and demonstrator. Bruce also served as a Board Member at the Advance Media Workflow Association.

In 1992, Bruce joined Snell & Wilcox as the Vice President of Technology, a role they held for 16 years. During their time there, they were involved in the split of Snell & Wilcox and became the Vice President of Technology in the Software division.

Bruce then joined AmberFin - A Dalet Company as the Chief Technical Officer, responsible for technology direction, product specification, software architecture, and customer interaction. When AmberFin was acquired by Dalet in 2014, Bruce became the Chief Technology Officer. Bruce continued their journey with Dalet as the Chief Media Scientist and played a key role in ensuring the company's recognition for its media technology.

In 2016, Bruce founded Mr MXF Ltd, a venture dedicated to delivering innovative media technology solutions to the industry. Their responsibilities in this role include software product definition, product management workflows, software specification and development, as well as preparation of training materials and communications work.

Bruce has also been actively involved with SMPTE, where they held positions such as Standards Vice President, Fellow, and most recently, Past Standards Vice President.

Throughout their career, Bruce Devlin has demonstrated strong expertise in media technology, product development, standards, and industry collaboration.

Bruce Devlin received their MA degree in Electrical Sciences from the University of Cambridge (Queens' College) between the years 1983 and 1986.
