Jeff Schoenecker, P.E.

Jeff Schoenecker, P.E. has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of electrical engineering and utility services. Jeff started their career as a Student Engineer at Great River Energy in 1999, where they assisted with distribution line design and supported engineering studies for distribution cooperatives in Minnesota. In 2003, they joined Power System Engineering, Inc. as a Planning Engineer, where they provided engineering support to electric utilities across the United States. Jeff'sresponsibilities included distribution system planning, system protection, and work order inspections. Jeff also conducted various studies and prepared reports related to system analysis and contingency planning.

In 2007, Jeff joined Dakota Electric Association as a System Engineer, where they worked until 2012. During this time, they contributed to maintaining and improving the safety, reliability, and economics of the electrical distribution system. Jeff provided project management for engineering studies and construction projects, as well as relaying and protection studies.

In 2013, Jeff briefly worked as a Senior System Engineer at ISG before returning to Dakota Electric Association in the role of Senior Electrical Engineer. In this capacity, they continued to provide leadership and direction in technical areas, ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization's operations.

Since 2018, Jeff has held the position of Vice President of Utility Services/Operations at Dakota Electric Association, demonstrating their progression within the company and their expertise in utility services. In this role, they oversee and provides strategic guidance for utility services and operations.

Jeff Schoenecker, P.E. obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Physics from Saint John's University in 2002. Jeff then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Minnesota, completing it in 2003. In 2008, they obtained the Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the State of Minnesota. Later, they gained further education by earning a Certificate of Distinguished Leadership and Business Administration from Carlson Executive Education, University of Minnesota, which they completed in 2022.
