Nicolas Thorstensen is a highly experienced professional in the fields of mathematics, computer science, and biomedical imaging. As the Founder and Managing Director of IVISO GmbH since September 2015, and Co-Founder of D-ARIA since December 2018, Nicolas has demonstrated significant entrepreneurial leadership. In addition to these roles, Nicolas serves as an Adjunct Lecturer at Technische Universität Wien, focusing on visual perception for autonomous systems, and previously lectured at the University of Vienna on linear algebra and analysis. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Computer Science from École nationale des ponts et chaussées and multiple degrees in Computer Science from Technische Universität Wien and the University of Vienna. Prior work experience includes roles as a Software Engineer in biomedical imaging and high-performance computing, as well as research positions in machine learning and algorithm development.
