Sebastià Barceló Bauçà's work experience includes roles at various companies in the fields of statistical programming and mathematics. Sebastià is currently working at Cytel as a Principal Statistical Programmer, where they have held roles as both a Senior Statistical Programmer and a Principal Statistical Programmer. Prior to this, Sebastià worked as an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Universitat de les Illes Balears. Sebastià also served as the Head of Biometry at Sofpromed, where they were responsible for data management, statistics, and statistical programming. Sebastià gained experience as a Statistical Programmer at IQVIA, specializing in tasks related to SDTM datasets. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Statistician and SAS Statistical Programmer at Syntax for Science S.L., where they wrote statistical analysis plans and performed programming activities.

Sebastià Barceló Bauçà completed their Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science at the Universitat de les Illes Balears from 2009 to 2015. Sebastià then pursued their Master's degree in Applied Statistics at the Universidad de Granada from 2015 to 2022.

In addition to their academic degrees, Sebastià has obtained several certifications. Sebastià obtained certifications in Machine Learning Using SAS Viya and SAS Visual Analytics 1 for SAS Viya: Basics from SAS in May 2021. In June 2017, they obtained a certification in GOOD CLINICAL PRACTICES from the NIDA Clinical Trials Network. In September 2016, they earned a certification in Survival Analysis presented by Dave Collett from the Royal Statistical Society. In August 2016, they obtained certifications in Introduction to Statistical Concepts, SAS Programming 1 Essentials, and Statistics I Introduction to ANOVA, Regression and Logistic Regression from SAS. Prior to that, in July 2016, they achieved fluency in English at an advanced level estimated by Duolingo, and in June 2016, they achieved basic fluency in French estimated by Duolingo. Finally, in May 2015, they obtained a certification in Estadística para investigadores: Todo lo que siempre quiso saber from Miríada X.
