Matthew Freeman has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Matthew currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer at CyTAL UK Ltd. Prior to this, they held multiple positions at DNV, including Director of Cyber Security Services and Innovation, UK, and Global Director of Cyber Security. Matthew also served as Head of Department and Head of Section for Operational Excellence, as well as the Head of Smart Metering Programme. Earlier in their career, they worked at Central Networks as a Senior Project Manager and Network Strategy Engineer. Matthew began their career at EDF Energy as a Technical Development Engineer and Graduate Engineer.

Matthew Freeman studied Digital Leadership Programme at INSEAD in 2018. In the same year, they also completed a training program in Digital Business Models at UC Berkeley, Rausser College of Natural Resources. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Nottingham in 2003. Matthew attended The King's (The Cathedral) School from 1993 to 2000, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned for this period.
