Vaughan is a software engineer with over 20 years’ experience and a longstanding interest in information security, dating back to early career roles as a UNIX systems administrator, and later work with federal government agencies.

Before founding Cydarm, Vaughan worked at Palantir, a Silicon Valley-based data analytics vendor, as a forward deployed engineer and deployment lead. Prior to that, Vaughan worked for almost 10 years at the Department of Defence, in Canberra, Australia and Maryland, USA, leading DevOps teams and driving analytic modernisation efforts using big data.

Vaughan has a PhD in Computer Science, specialising in high scale machine learning, and Bachelor degrees in Computer Science and Computer Systems Engineering.
