Karen Smith is a highly experienced professional in the field of radioactive waste management and environmental protection. Currently serving as the Waste Treatment Technical Manager at Cyclife since October 2019, Karen has held various positions including Waste Delivery Manager and Technical Specialist. Prior experience includes roles as a Waste Technical Specialist and Radioactive Waste Advisor at Cyclife eDF, as well as an Environment Advisor at Magnox Ltd, where responsibilities involved addressing radiological and conventional environment issues for decommissioning projects. Karen's expertise extends to conducting Best Practicable Environmental Options Studies and ensuring project compliance with relevant authorizations. Previous roles also include Radiological Protection Engineer and Graduate Environment Specialist at Magnox, complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of East Anglia.
