Aivo Kalu has a diverse work experience in the field of information security. Aivo started their career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia in 1997, where they worked in information security until 2005. Aivo then moved on to Elion Enterprises Ltd. and served as an information security manager from 2005 to 2010. Since 2010, Aivo has been working at Cybernetica, first as a Security Engineer until March 2022, and then as a Lead Security Engineer from April 2022 onwards.

Aivo Kalu obtained a PhD in information technology from TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology from 2006 to 2010. Prior to that, from 2004 to 2006, they earned an MSc in informatics from the same institution. Aivo also holds a BSc in informatics from TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology, which they completed from 1996 to 2004. In addition, they received the CISA certification from ISACA in December 2013.
