Beth Cheuk has an extensive background in community affairs and development, currently serving as the Supervisor of Community Affairs and Development for Charlottesville City Schools since August 2013. In this role, Beth plays a key part on the executive leadership team, addressing complex social challenges within the school district. Prior to this position, Beth worked at Longwood University from 2006 to 2012, ultimately becoming the Assistant Director of the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts after initially coordinating public relations and events. Beth’s career began at the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, where responsibilities included roles as assistant to the president and later as publications coordinator from 1993 to 2006. Academic credentials include a Master's degree in English, focusing on Writing and Education from Longwood University, and a Bachelor's degree in English and French from Rice University.
