Basar Alp has a diverse work experience spanning several companies. Basar started their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Delaware from 1999 to 2001. After that, they worked as an Application Engineer at New Eagle Software from 2001 to 2003, focusing on rapid prototyping and hardware-in-the-loop simulation.
At General Motors, they held the roles of Project Engineer from 2003 to 2007, where they developed algorithms for Fuel Cell Power Modules and integrated them into vehicles. From 2007 to 2011, they served as a Senior Project Engineer, specializing in fuel cell system design, optimization, and cost reduction activities.
Alp then joined Continental, starting as a Manager of Software and Systems Engineering from 2011 to 2015. Basar later became the Director of Engineering from 2015 to 2018. At Continental, they led various engineering initiatives.
Currently, Alp holds the position of Vice President of Engineering and Innovation at Curtis Instruments, Inc., starting in September 2018.
Basar Alp completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Orta DoÄŸu Teknik Ãœniversitesi / Middle East Technical University in the years 1994 to 1999. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Controls Engineering from the University of Delaware from 1999 to 2001. Later, they attended the University of Rochester from 2006 to 2010 and obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, specializing in Competitive and Organizational Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Finance.
