Chris Porter has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Chris started their career as a Student Affairs Counselor and Scholarship Coordinator at Musicians Institute in 2010 and transitioned to become a Financial Aid Counselor at New York Film Academy in 2013. During this time, they gained valuable experience in advising and assisting students with their academic and financial needs.
In 2015, Chris joined The Speakeasy Society as an Associate Artistic Director and Music/Sound Director. In this role, they collaborated closely with producers, directors, and other teammates to create impactful narratives and ensure a cohesive experience for the audience. Chris also contributed to script and music content and managed budgetary aspects of the production.
Alongside their other roles, Chris has been a Freelance Composer, Orchestrator, Arranger, and Copyist since 2007, showcasing their musical talents and creating original compositions. Additionally, they co-directed, produced, and composed for SOLAR, a project at CurtCo Media starting in 2019.
Chris's work experience demonstrates their skills in creative collaboration, financial counseling, student affairs, and music composition.
Chris Porter earned a Bachelor of Music in Composition from Baldwin Wallace University from 2002 to 2006. Later, from 2007 to 2009, they pursued a Master of Fine Arts in Music Composition from the California Institute of the Arts.
