Erik Erbe, PhD

Erik Erbe, PhD has extensive experience in the field of scientific research and development. Erik is currently serving as the Chief Scientific Officer at Curiteva, Inc. where they have been working since 2021. Prior to that, they held the position of Vice President, Clinical and Research at the same company from 2021 to 2023.

Before joining Curiteva, Inc., Erik worked as the Chief Science Officer at Stability Biologics, LLC from 2014 to 2018, where they were responsible for the development and launch of Physio allograft bone grafts and technology for medical applications via tissue engineering.

From 2009 to 2014, Erik served as the VP of R&D at NuVasive, where they led research on allogeneic stem cell graft material and inductive TCP ceramics. Erik also worked as a consultant for Nuvasive during this time.

In 2008, Erik held the position of VP of R&D at Knee Creations, where they played a key role in defining procedures with surgeon founders and developing the Subchondroplasty technical platform.

Prior to that, Erik served as the VP of R&D at Mo-Sci Corporation from 2007 to 2008, and as the Chief Science Officer at Orthovita from 1995 to 2007, where they invented and developed various medical products and delivery systems, holding 25 US patents.

Erik began their career at 3M Health Care in 1991 as a Senior Product Development Engineer, working in the Ceramic Technology Center, Dental Products Division, and Orthopedic Groups. Erik contributed to the development of multiple products and holds twelve Records of Invention.

Erik Erbe, PhD has a diverse education history. Erik began their educational journey at DeSmet Jesuit High School, where they obtained their high school diploma in 1983. Following this, they pursued further studies at the Missouri University of Science and Technology from 1983 to 1991. Here, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Glass Science and Ceramic Engineering. Later in their career, in 2007, Erik attended The Wharton School and completed the Essentials of Management Program. This program provided him with a well-rounded understanding of management principles.
