Franziska Bell, PhD, is a seasoned technology leader currently serving as Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Digital Technology at bp. Additionally, Franziska holds the position of Digital Advisory Council Member and has held significant roles in software and platform engineering as Vice President at bp. Franziska has also contributed as an advisor at Curio and UserTesting, and previously served as Senior Director at the Toyota Research Institute. Prior experience includes key data science leadership roles at Uber, where Franziska advanced from Data Science Manager II to Director of Data Science for Data Science Platforms. Academically, Franziska earned a PhD in Theoretical Chemistry with a focus on High-Performance Computing and Applied Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Chemistry with Honours in Theoretical Chemistry from the University of York.
