Dean Dodds has a diverse work experience, starting in 2013 as a Student at Queen's University Belfast where they studied until 2018. In 2016, they worked as a Software Developer at BrainWaveBank, contributing to the development of an Android application for their EEG system. The following year, they joined Cumulus Neuroscience as a Mobile Developer, taking charge of the company's mobile platform and leading it through the UKCA certification as a medical device. In 2022, Dean joined EverQuote as a Software Engineer II.

Dean Dodds completed their education at Queen's University Belfast from 2013 to 2018, where they obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Computer Games Development. Prior to that, they attended The Wallace High School from 2007 to 2013. In addition to their formal education, Dean Dodds has also acquired several certifications, including "Medical Devices and IEC 62304" from Gantus AB, "ISO 13485:2016 - Quality Management Systems for Medical Devices" from Alison, and "Research, GDPR and Confidentiality" from the Medical Research Council. These certifications were obtained in 2020, with specific months indicated for each certification.
