Michelle Scopel is an experienced professional in urban development and environmental management, currently serving as the Urban Development Senior Project Manager at the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency since March 2022. As Chair of the Board of Directors for the Cumberland River Compact since April 2016, Michelle is committed to advancing the organization's mission. With over 14 years in environmental and project management roles, previous positions include Project Manager at GHP, Watershed Science Program Manager at the Harpeth River Watershed Association, Environmental Compliance Officer with Metro Water Services, and Environmentalist at the Metro Public Health Department. Michelle holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering/Environmental Management from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Additionally, Michelle operates as a photographer, capturing nature and wildlife imagery.
