Joan Marie Hurwit is an experienced arts professional currently serving as the Managing Director at Cuesta College's Harold J. Miossi Cultural & Performing Arts Center since November 2017. In this role, Joan coordinates and oversees all activities within the CPAC, ensuring effective event scheduling and communication. Additional roles include the position of Backstage Manager for the Live Oak Music Festival, Volunteer Coordinator for Festival Mozaic, and Lead Researcher for the New Works Research Project. As the founder of the blog “it’s the little things,” Joan has focused on community engagement, while past experience includes various roles with Native Voices at the Autry, freelance directing and dramaturgy, and serving as an advisor to the Associated Student Union at Los Angeles Valley College. Joan holds a Master of Arts in Theatre Arts from San Diego State University, complementing a Bachelor of Arts in the same field.
