Richard Magid has extensive experience in technology transfer and licensing. Richard is currently serving as the Vice President of Technology Transfer at Colorado State University Research Foundation (CSURF) since May 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Vice President at the University of Tennessee Research Foundation starting from July 2009. From June 2006 to June 2009, Richard worked as a Licensing Associate also at the University of Tennessee Research Foundation.
Richard Magid earned their Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where they studied from 1998 to 2003. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering and Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, graduating in 1998. In addition to their formal education, Richard has obtained certifications in various subjects. These include "Introduction to Machine Learning" from Coursera in May 2021, "Vaccine Trials: Methods and Best Practices" from Coursera in August 2013, and "Drug Discovery, Development" from Coursera in June 2013. Richard also completed a certification titled "How to Build a Startup" from Udacity, although the specific month and year of obtaining it are not provided.
