Matt Maughan

Matt Maughan has a diverse and extensive work experience in the agricultural industry. Matt began their career as a Farm Hand/Supervisor at Maughan Farms Inc, a family farm operation, from 1996 to 2006. Matt then worked at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as a Graduate Research Assistant and later as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from 2006 to 2011. Matt joined DuPont Pioneer in 2011, serving in various roles including Agronomy Trials Manager, Field Agronomist, Agronomist/Account Manager, and Statistical Consultant until 2016. Currently, Matt is employed at CSS Farms, LLC where they have held positions as Farm Manager & Agronomist, Research & Development Manager, and currently serves as the Director of Agronomy R&D since January 2020.

Matt Maughan has a strong education background in the field of crop sciences and agricultural business science & technology. Matt pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Agricultural Business Science & Technology from Brigham Young University - Idaho from 2000 to 2006. Later, they attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Crop Sciences from 2006 to 2008. Matt continued their education at the same university and completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Crop Sciences from 2008 to 2011. In addition to their academic achievements, Matt Maughan also holds a certification as a Certified Crop Advisor, which they obtained in 2013.
