Bahar Gidwani began their career in 1983 as a Vice President at Kidder, Peabody & Co. In 1991, they became the CEO of Index Stock Imagery, Inc., where they formed the company with venture backing to move the stock photo business onto the Internet. Bahar rolled up twelve companies and built the organization to 175 employees in four offices. In 2000, the technology bust caused him to cut the organization back to 50 people. In 2002, Gidwani joined Aidspan as a Board Member. In 2007, they became an Investor in several angel groups, including Harvard Business Schools Alumni Angels of Greater New York, Astia Angels, New York TIE, New York Investors Circle and New York Keiretsu. Later that year, they became the CEO of Sonibyte Podcasting VoiceOver Services, Inc. In 2010, they joined Private Communications as a Board Member. In 2015, they became a Lead Mentor at the Canadian Technology Accelerator (CTA) of New York. In 2017, Gidwani became the Chief Executive Officer of the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL), where they were responsible for the overall management and leadership of the ACBL, including services, programs and business operations. Bahar had previously been the Co-founder of CSRHUB LLC, a company that delivers corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability metrics to corporate managers, researchers, and socially-conscious individuals.
Bahar Gidwani obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Astronomy and Physics from Amherst College between 1972 and 1976. Bahar then earned an MBA in Marketing from Harvard Business School between 1979 and 1981. In 1985, they obtained a CFA from the CFA Institute. Bahar then completed the Chartered Financial Analyst program from 1983 to 1986. In 2016, they obtained the FSA Credential from SASB Standards. Bahar also has a CFA Institute CE Program 10 Year Milestone Badge and a GRI Certified Training Program from the Global Report Initiative.
