Andrew Byrum is a data scientist at The Council of State Governments Justice Center since July 2021, with prior experience as a research analyst at The City University of New York from October 2017 to July 2021. During this time, Andrew led evaluation teams focused on mixed-methods research, developed machine learning models, and enhanced geocoding capabilities to support educational equity programs. Andrew's earlier roles include graduate research assistant at Columbia University, conducting ethnographic studies, and research assistant positions at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where Andrew specialized in analyzing social factors affecting housing and community health. Andrew holds a Master of Arts in Sociology from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
