David Youatt has over 15 years of work experience in the tech industry. In 2003, they began their career as a Lead Software Engineer at Aventail. David then moved on to become a VP at Big Fish Games in 2006. In 2007, they took on the role of Consulting Engineer and Technical Advisor at Gray Area Technologies. From 2008 to 2009, they worked as a Senior Engineer at Meteor Solutions. In 2009, they joined Idea Pattern as a Senior Member Technical Staff. In 2010, they worked as a Greenplum TSE at EMC Greenplum. From 2013 to 2017, they held the role of Greenplum Consultant at zData Inc. - an atos business. Finally, since 2017, they have been a Sr. Software Engineer at Crunchy Data.

David Youatt completed their B.S. in Geology and Mineralogy from the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts between 1973 and 1977. David then attended the University of Michigan College of Engineering between 1977 and 1979, earning a BSE in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. Finally, they obtained an MSE in Computer and Information Science from the University of Pennsylvania in 1985.
