Jamie Merritt has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. They started their career as a Project/Thesis Assistant at the National Pesticide Information Center in 2015, where they attended meetings, wrote drafts for project papers, and organized data. From 2014 to 2016, Jamie worked at the Oregon State University Honors College, first as an Ambassador and Office Assistant, where they presented information, gave tours, and communicated with campus representatives. Later, they became an Advising Coordinator, supervising student workers, scheduling advisors' calendars, and answering student questions.
In 2016, Jamie joined the USC Viterbi School of Engineering as an Academic Advisor, where they advised undergraduate students, created course plans, updated student records, and coordinated with faculty and staff. They held this role until 2018.
In 2018, Jamie began working at the University of Portland Shiley School of Engineering as a Program Counselor and Coordinator for Student Support and Engagement. Here, they provided advising and support for engineering students, performed registrar duties, worked with industry representatives, and focused on retention research. Additionally, they advised all engineering and computer science students on study abroad programs. They also worked as an Adjunct Instructor during this time.
Continuing their journey, Jamie joined the University of Portland as a Leadership Certificate Coach in 2020, where they coached students in the leadership certificate program. They then transitioned to CrowdStreet in 2021 as a Sponsor Enablement Specialist, and later moved into the role of Operations Analyst. In this role, they trained customers on technology and best practices, managed a customer service team, edited and created content for the customer Knowledge Base, and sent mass communications to customers. They also hold the position of Vice President of the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee at CrowdStreet.
Jamie Merritt has a diverse education history. They earned a Master of Science in Operation and Technology Management with a Business Analytics Certificate from the University of Portland between 2019 and 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's Degree in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs from the University of Southern California from 2016 to 2018. Additionally, Jamie holds an Honors Bachelor of Science in Environmental Chemistry and International Studies from Oregon State University, completed between 2012 and 2016. In terms of certifications, they have obtained several, including a Certificate in Business Analytics from the University of Portland in May 2022, Customer Service Leadership from LinkedIn in August 2021, Scrum: Advanced from LinkedIn in April 2021, Assessment in Higher Education from the University of Southern California in April 2017, and Advising 101 from the University of Southern California in November 2016.
