As a senior project member of the Imaging and Software Distribution of Viacom in 2003, James Wong was responsible for streamlining the creation and distribution of the firm’s operating system images and the packaging of software. The project decreased the time and costs the firm spent on deploying software over different machines and equipments.
In 2000, James worked as system administrator for Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Inc and later Credit Suisse | First Boston. Besides maintaining the various servers that service the firm, James involved in several innovative project roll outs such as Web conferencing, Video over IP (H.323), and use of the internal audio bridge conferencing system. The projects reduced the overall costs for the company.
Working in Logistics Department of MTV Networks/ Infoworks Inc., James trained and managed consultants and his staff members for the hardware and software installations, and troubleshooting techniques.
He was also the lead member responsible for the roll out of Windows NT 4.0, Windows 95, Windows 98 and new hardware for Y2K project in MTV Networks/ Infoworks Inc.
As a Helpdesk Supervisor on Micro Support Center, IS&CD for Prudential Securities Inc. in 1995, James supervised the helpdesk technicians. He had set procedures on how to deal with user requests, un-resolved issues and complaints. His duties included scheduling projects, assigning trouble tickets, and performing callbacks to ensure customer satisfaction. The helpdesk technician team was responsible for supporting 7000 users in 3 locations and assisting branch offices in the United States with PC related problems.
James has had years of experiences working in technology in various fields. As the Vice President, System Administrator in CrossRoads Technology, James is responsible for design, implementation and administration of the server and desktop environment tailored to the clients needs.
