Johanssen Obanda is an experienced professional currently serving as Community Engagement Manager at Crossref, where engagement with Crossref Ambassadors and outreach initiatives is emphasized. In parallel roles, Johanssen is a DEIA Standards Committee Member and Subcommittee Member at the National Information Standards Organization, focusing on promoting social justice and embedding DEIA principles within the organization. As Global Innovation Advisor for the International Development Innovation Alliance and Director of Pint of Science Kenya, Johanssen co-organizes science communication events. Additionally, Johanssen is the Visionary Founder of Jabulani Youths for Transformation and previously held the position of Executive Director & Creator at AfricArxiv, supporting outreach and community participation. Educational achievements include a Post Graduate Diploma in Social Innovation from the University for Peace, a Postgraduate Certificate in Social Innovation Management from Amani Institute, a Mandarin Chinese Certificate from Confucius Institute at Egerton University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Egerton University.
