Ginny Hendricks has a diverse work experience in the research and publishing industry. Ginny is currently the Director of Member & Community Outreach at Crossref, where they oversee community engagement, content and communications, member experience, technical support, and metadata strategy. In 2017, Ginny founded the Metadata 2020 initiative, aiming to improve the quality of metadata for research. Ginny also serves as a Board Member for AFRICAN JOURNALS ONLINE and as an International Advisory Board Member for the Research Centre for Open Scholarly Metadata at the University of Bologna. Additionally, Ginny is a Member of the Board of Advisors for Coalition Publi.ca. Prior to their current roles, they founded Ardent, a strategic marketing consultancy for research communications and publishing organizations, and worked at Elsevier, Swets Information Services, Swets Blackwell, and Blackwell's Information Services in various product management and coordination positions.
Ginny Hendricks holds a Master of Science - MSc degree in Digital Communications from The Manchester Metropolitan University, which they obtained from 2011 to 2015. Ginny also received a Graduate Diploma in Digital Communications from the same university from 2010 to 2013. In addition, they completed a course in Advanced Marketing Strategy at the Management Centre Europe in 2005.
