Richard C. Pattison has extensive work experience in various scientific and research roles. Starting in 2010, they worked as a Research Assistant at Bristol-Myers Squibb for a period of two months. In 2011, they became an Undergraduate Researcher at Carnegie Mellon University, where they worked until 2011. From 2014 to 2014, they completed a research internship at Process Systems Enterprise (PSE) and worked as an Associate at Texas Venture Labs for four months. In 2016, they joined The University of Texas at Austin as a PhD Candidate/Teaching Assistant and later became a Postdoctoral Researcher until 2017.

Richard C. Pattison began their education at Rocky River High School, where they completed their secondary education from 2003 to 2007. Richard C. then pursued their Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, studying from 2007 to 2011. Following this, they attended The University of Texas at Austin and earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemical Engineering from 2011 to 2016.
