Laura Hanson-Smith is an accomplished Environmental Director at Aecon Group Inc. since 2011, where significant contributions include leading the environmental efforts for the Finch West Light Rail Transit Project and serving as the Environmental Manager for Crosslinx Transit Solutions on the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit Project. With a background in environmental program development, implementation, and performance assessment, Laura has extensive experience in environmental monitoring and compliance. Prior roles include Environmental Officer, where risk reduction initiatives were executed, and various technical positions at Environment Canada and the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, focusing on air quality and climate data analysis. Laura holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Waterloo and has completed further education in Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems and Environmental Technology.
