Ryan Johnson has an extensive work experience spanning several companies. Ryan started their career as a Public Relations Manager at Litetronics International, where they developed concepts for product promotion and launch. Ryan then worked as a Marketing Communications Manager at Midtown Athletic Clubs, where they launched member magazines, coordinated with designers, and created various communication materials.
From there, Ryan transitioned into the digital world as a Web Content Administrator at DePaul University, where they implemented strategies that significantly increased website visitors and received an award for web strategy. Ryan then moved on to Imagination, where they served as the Director of Content Optimization and SEO Manager. In this role, they helped the company transition into the digital world, implemented successful SEO strategies for Fortune 500 clients, and established SEO guidelines for new websites.
Ryan further advanced their career at DigitasLBi_US, where they worked as an SEO Manager and produced successful SEO and content strategies for Fortune 500 clients. Ryan then joined Ricoh USA, Inc. as an SEO Program Manager, where they designed and implemented enterprise SEO strategies and built the brand's SEO department from scratch.
Subsequently, Ryan joined Reprise Digital as an Associate Director of SEO, managing Chicago SEO operations and overseeing millions of dollars in annual business. Ryan also mentored and developed young search professionals in this role. Following their time at Reprise Digital, they joined Digital Authority Partners as an SEO and Accessibility Manager, and most recently, they are employed at Critical Mass as the Associate Director of Search. In this role, they implement SEO procedures, develops junior talent, and leads SEO initiatives for top-level clients.
Throughout their career, Ryan has demonstrated their expertise in SEO, digital strategy, account management, and business development. Ryan has worked with clients in various industries, including automotive, government, finance, retail, and B2B, and has consistently delivered successful results.
Ryan Johnson obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Illinois State University from 1995 to 2000. Ryan then pursued a Master of Arts degree in Advertising and Public Relations at DePaul University from 2004 to 2006. In terms of additional certifications, Ryan obtained certifications in various Google Ads specialties from Google in November 2018, including Google Ads Display, Google Ads Fundamentals, Google Ads Mobile, and Google Ads Search.
