Francesca Albanese

Executive Director Of Policy & Social Change at Crisis

Francesca Albanese has a strong background in research and policy work related to homelessness and social change. From 2008 to 2014, they worked at Shelter UK, initially as a Policy Officer and later as a Research Officer. In 2014, they joined Homeless Link as a Research Manager, where they worked until 2015. In 2016, they took on a role as Research Manager at Crisis and later became Head of Research and Evaluation, covering a secondment, and eventually Executive Director of Policy and Social Change. Francesca has been in this position since 2023. Overall, Francesca has extensive experience in research, evaluation, and policy development within the homelessness sector.

Francesca Albanese completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Geography from the University of Leeds in 2002. Francesca then pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Urban Regeneration from Leeds Beckett University, which they completed in 2003. Later that same year, they began studying at Sheffield Hallam University and obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Social Science Research Methods in 2004. Francesca furthered their education at Sheffield Hallam University, where they completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Housing Policy in 2007.
