Shane Buchanan is a highly experienced professional in the field of civil engineering, with a significant focus on asphalt and construction materials. Currently serving as Vice President of Product Performance and Innovation at CRH since February 2012, Shane leads product improvement efforts and guides innovation strategies. Previously, Shane held the role of Asphalt Performance Manager at CRH Americas Materials and served as Corporate Technical Services Manager and Senior Materials Engineer at Vulcan Materials Company, where responsibilities included developing testing programs and working on product development. Shane’s academic experience includes serving as an Assistant Professor at Mississippi State University, managing the Construction Materials Research Center, and has also held leadership roles, such as Executive Director of the Alabama Asphalt Pavement Association. Shane’s research background includes positions at the National Center for Asphalt Technology, managing multiple research projects for various organizations. Shane earned a PhD and MS in Civil Engineering from Auburn University and holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Mississippi State University.
