Jamiu Folarin is an accomplished professional in the field of mass communication with a focus on journalism and research. Currently serving as a GovSpend Fellow at BudgIT Nigeria, Jamiu investigates government spending and assesses value for money in procurement processes. As Managing Editor at Platform Times Newspaper and a member of the Rockcity Strategic Board on Public Affairs, Jamiu contributes to public discourse and media initiatives. With a rich educational background, including a PhD in Mass Communication from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Jamiu has held various significant positions such as Lecturer/Researcher at Crescent University Abeokuta and Africa Fellow at the Solutions Journalism Network, where projects aim to enhance journalism practices on the continent. Previous roles include Research Assistant and Dubawa Research Fellow at the Premium Times Centre for Investigative Journalism, as well as positions in radio and business reporting.
