Jonathan Vollers, LC has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Jonathan currently holds the position of Director of Engineering Services at Cree Lighting since November 2021. In this role, they manage the NVLAP accredited photometry testing lab and leads the third-party certification processes to ensure validation of data and increase the credibility of Cree Lighting. Jonathan also provides technical expertise on lighting science, testing, and applications.
Prior to their current role, Jonathan worked at Cree from 2013 to 2019, where they served as the Lighting Qualification Program Manager and Manager of Testing Services. Their responsibilities included managing Cree Lighting product qualification efforts, supporting certification through ENERGY STAR, DLC, and other certification bodies in North America, and driving qualification timelines.
Before joining Cree, Jonathan worked as a Program Manager at UTC Aerospace Systems - Fire Protection Systems, where they were responsible for the A350 OHDS program. Jonathan also worked at Kidde Aerospace & Defense (Hamilton Sundstrand) as a Project Manager, Integrated Product Team Lead, and Project Engineer, managing the design, production, and qualification of electronic controllers and fire extinguishing products.
Earlier in their career, Jonathan worked at G.W. Lisk Co., Inc. as a Senior Project Engineer/Assistant Product Manager, where they managed engineers and designers, coordinated engineering, manufacturing, and sales efforts, and sought new business opportunities in the military/aerospace markets. Jonathan also worked as a Project Engineer at G.W. Lisk Co., Inc. and served as an Assistant Manager at Riga Tavern.
Jonathan Vollers, LC obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Syracuse University from 1993 to 1997. Later, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) specializing in Leadership Studies at Baker College Center for Graduate Studies from 2005 to 2009.
