Likai Zhu has a strong background in the field of optical systems engineering, starting as a Research Assistant at Tianjin University in 2003, and later conducting research at CREOL, The College of Optics and Photonics. Over the years, Likai has held positions at various leading companies like OCLARO, Inphi Corporation, NeoPhotonics, and Fiberhome Telecom USA, where they took on roles as a Senior Staff Optical Engineer, Staff Engineer, and Staff Optical System Engineer. In 2022, Likai joined Credo as a Principal Engineer, leading the R&D of power-efficient DSP algorithms and contributing to industry standards projects. Likai has also authored several papers in prestigious journals and conferences within the photonics field.

Likai Zhu earned a Ph.D. in Optics with a focus on optical fiber communication from the University of Central Florida from 2006 to 2011. Prior to that, from 1999 to 2003, Likai Zhu obtained both a M.S. and B.S. in Electronics Engineering from Tianjin University.
