Clare Armitage

Peer Assessor at Creative Australia

Clare Armitage serves as the Director of Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre since April 2024 and has been a Peer Assessor for the Australia Council for the Arts since July 2021. Previous roles include Exhibitions Curator at Library and Archives NT, Regional Initiatives Officer at National Gallery of Australia, and Assistant Curator of Art at Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory. Clare participated as the 2019 Venice Biennale Emerging Arts Professional and worked as Curator and Retail Manager at Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre. Clare's curatorial expertise was further honed at Artback NT as the SPARK NT Curator and through self-employment as a curator. Clare holds a Master's Degree in Art History and Curatorial Studies from The Australian National University and a Bachelor's Degree with Honours in Art Theory from the College of Fine Arts, UNSW.
