Charlie Gao has a diverse work experience. Charlie is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of Crafting, a company they started in September 2021. Prior to that, they served as an Admission interview judge at StartX. In 2018, Charlie took on the role of a Full-time dad for their family until September 2021.

Before becoming a full-time dad, Charlie worked at Lime as the Co-Founder & CTO from December 2016 to July 2018. Prior to Lime, they served as an Engineering Manager at Square from December 2013 to February 2017. Charlie's career started at Facebook, where they worked as a Staff Software Engineer from March 2010 to December 2013.

Charlie Gao began their education in 2000 at Zhejiang University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science. Charlie successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 2004. Subsequently, Gao enrolled at The Ohio State University in 2004 to pursue a Ph.D. in Computer Science. Charlie dedicated their educational journey to this field of study until 2010, when they successfully obtained their doctoral degree.
