Melinda Wax is a versatile professional in the fields of art, design, and education, currently serving as Assistant to the Executive Director at Craft Contemporary since February 2024. Melinda also holds the position of Visitor and Retail Associate at the Craft Contemporary Shop since May 2022 and has been working as a researcher, educator, and program developer since July 2019. Melinda’s extensive academic background includes roles as Assistant Professor and Director of Adult Programs at Parsons School of Design, where a focus on millinery, sustainable design, and diverse disciplines was emphasized. With experience at various esteemed institutions, including Bard Graduate Center Gallery and Pratt Institute, Melinda specializes in curriculum development, creative scholarship, and community empowerment through design education. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Art & Design Education from Pratt Institute and a BA in Fine Arts/Printmaking & Dance from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
