Beth Mackay serves as the Cities Manager for Science-Based Climate Targets at CDP since August 2021, having previously held the role of Global Engagement Manager for Cities, States, and Regions. Prior to CDP, Beth held various positions including Knowledge Manager at Future Climate for Africa and an intern at UNFCCC, where involvement focused on climate change adaptation. Early experience includes internships with the City of Cape Town in resource efficiency and energy and climate change initiatives. Beth holds an LLM in Global Environment and Climate Change Law from The University of Edinburgh and a Master's in Climate Change and Sustainable Development from the University of Cape Town, along with various scholarships and courses related to climate studies.
