Zhong JIN has worked in a variety of roles since 1997. Zhong began their career as an Embedded Software Engineer at Equator Technologies, Inc., where they worked on video (de)compression on a multimedia chip, memory management, instruction optimization, and hash table design. In 2000, they became a Research Scientist at Télécom ParisTech. From 2007 to 2013, they worked as a DSP Engineer at Airbiquity, where they were responsible for inband modem, FSK modulation, ARQ, and FEC over audio channel. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as a System Integration Engineer at Intel Corporation, where they designed and implemented simulations for interfaces to aid integration and diagnostic, and created test requirements and automation for wearable devices. Since 2015, they have been employed as a System Engineer at cPacket Networks, Inc.

Zhong JIN obtained their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Physics (PhD) and Electrical Engineering (MS) from the University of Washington between 1991 and 1997. Zhong completed their studies in Physics at Fudan University between 1986 and 1990. Zhong also attended Seattle Central College, though the duration of their studies is unknown.
