Stefan Drees has a diverse work experience spanning several companies in the chemical industry. Stefan started their career at Bayer AG in 1989 as an Expert/Manager in process and plant safety, and later became a Senior Plant Engineer. In 2000, they joined Bayer LLC as a Senior Engineer and then transitioned to roles as Senior Manager in production and engineering. From 2002 to 2008, they worked at Bayer Material Science LLC as Director of Contract Management. Upon returning to Bayer Material Science in 2008, they became the Director of HSEQ for the newly formed Center of Excellence, providing support to small to midsize units worldwide. In 2010, they took on the role of Vice President and Head of the Center of Excellence, managing HSEQ, ISO certifications, and process safety for 40 units of the company. Stefan also added contract and regulation management responsibilities. In 2015, they were promoted to Vice President of European Regulatory Affairs. In 2016, they joined Cefic as BREF Manager, leading discussions with the European Commission on reducing emissions across all industries in Europe. In 2023, they returned to Covestro as the Vice President and Global Head of PSG.
Stefan Drees obtained their Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from TU Dortmund University, from the year 1983 to 1989.
